Our Story

Back in 2012, a small team of energy experts and community organisers asked themselves a question:  What if regular people—families, renters, homeowners—could come together to unlock the kind of energy deals usually reserved for big companies?

At the time, switching energy suppliers was confusing and costly. Solar panels felt out of reach. And the dream of a greener home? Just that—a dream for most.

We launched our first group-buying scheme, Big Community Switch, helping thousands save on their energy bills through the power of collective action.

Then came Solar Together in 2015, bringing affordable, high-quality solar panels to communities across the UK.

That team became Switch Together. And our mission was simple:
