Thanks to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), eligible homeowners in England and Wales can receive a £7,500 government grant to help with the installation cost.

The BUS grant is currently scheduled to run until 31 December 2027, making this a great time to invest in low‑carbon heating, though it could still be subject to change.

Who Can Get the Grant?

Getting a £7,500 heat pump grant is simpler than you might think.

To qualify for the grant, you need to:

  • Own a home or small business in England or Wales
  • Be replacing a fossil fuel system (like a gas or oil boiler)
  • Have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with no major recommendations for insulation
  • Install a heat pump with a capacity up to 45kW (which suits most UK homes)
